J-1 Visa Sponsored Programs



Welcome to the J-1 Visa information site of International Educational Exchange, Inc. The purpose of our J-1 programs is to enhance understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through educational and cultural exchanges.

In this section you will learn more about the different programs we offer and how to apply for a J-1 Visa in the following categories:

Work/Travel Exchange

Hostess, Wait Staff, Kitchen, Landscaping, Housekeeping
This program allows International college and university students the opportunity of coming to the United States to work in the hospitality industry and gain a better understanding of the American culture. Participants are issued a special work/travel visa allowing them the opportunity to work in the U.S. for up to 4 months. They are then able to spend a month traveling before returning to their home country. Although students in this program are not limited to what positions they can hold, typically they prefer those listed above.

J-1 Training Program

Front Desk, Reservations, Concierge, Food and Beverage, Recreation, Information Services, Conference Services, Banquets, Golf Operations, Turf Maintenance, Business
The purpose of the J training classification is for young professionals to come to the United States to receive training in their field of specialty through participation in a structured training program. A J-1 trainee is allowed to train for up to 12 months to gain proficiency in their educational and professional background . At the end of the program, participants are given 30 days to travel before departing the country. This type of visa is available for 6 and 12 months.

Business Management training positions are available for up to 18 months.

J-1 Internship Program

Similar to the J-1 training classification, the J-1 intern classification allows students and recent graduates to participate in a structured learning program in their field of study. At the end of the program, participants are given 30 days to travel before departing the country. This type of visa is available for 6 and 12 months.

Compensation: All positions are paid by the hotel or resort that has agreed to host your program. This amount will be comparable to that paid to others with similar education and previous work experience.
