J-1 Program Step by Step

This page will give you an overview of our J-1 processes and procedures. Additionally, it will give you, in detail, what you can expect from the time you apply for your program to the completion of your program. Please review carefully so you do not miss out on important information.
Step 1: Submit Your Resume

Step 4:Your DS-2019 Packet
Now that you have received your DS-2019 packet,you will need to complete additional required forms that you must submit prior to making your embassy appointment. For more information-CLICK HERE
Step 5:Arrival Process
Upon your arrival to the United States and to your host employer site, you will be required to submit your contact and arrival form to our office within 72 hours.Click here
Step 6:Completion of Your Program
Upon completion of your program, you will be required to submit evidence of your return to your home country, You will also be required to submit an evaluation of your program.
Step 3:Congratulations!
You have received a job offer and you have completed our Visa application. Next you will be receiving the following documents:
  • DS-2019 form (Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1) Status)
  • DS-7002 form (your training outline for trainees and interns)
  • Program Sponsorship Letter addressed to the U.S. Embassy where you will be applying for your visa
  • Insurance ID Card (if applicable)
These documents will be sent via Federal Express to either your home address, your university representative or to your agent in your country.
